Be sure to spread out your GS’s as evenly as you can down the sides so that it’s not pulling the afghan to buckle. The side sts of the GS’s is one section and the side stitches of the FLO and BLO area is the second section. The trick is to get 3 GS’s in each section. There are no perfect stitches to use so I am going to tell you what you need to know in order to get the correct number of stitches needed for each side. SC 4 into last st then pivot your work, we’ll be working along the first side sts. Be sure to mark this corner before you continue. We’ll just keep going forward after we end our row. We’ll be using the last stitch of the row to create our corner. Rows 17 – 22 (6 more rows giving you a total of 8 rows) Measure your FLO\BLO and Glover Stitch rows. Just for your benefit I recommend measuring your piece after you’ve finished your last GS row to get a good idea how much 1 skein makes as well as size piece it makes. When starting your next row of GS, turn your work and begin your first part of the GS using the 2 nd chain from the hook and finishing the GS with the next st. The first ch as part of the GS and then the next chain is your turning chain. Remember at the end of your rows you will need to ch 2. GS in all sts this row (See row 1 of special stitch GS) Rows 4 – 9 (6 more rows giving you a total of 8 rows) SCFS 100 ch 1 and switch to 5 mm \ H hook. Even the border will be in rounds where you ch 1 and turn each round.

Then YO and pull through both loops on your hook. Granule Stitch – SC in 1 st stitch then insert your hook into next st and pull up a loop, YO and pull through only 1 loop, YO and pull through only 1 loop, (this should give you a ch of 3)

Insert your hook into the FLO of the next stitch, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook ) YO and insert your hook under both loops of the next stitch and pull up a loop ( 4 loops on hook ) YO and pull through all 4 loops and ch 1.Īt the very end of the row always remember to chain 2 because one of these chains will count as your first stitch of the row. YO and insert your hook into the NEXT st. Insert your hook in stitch, YO and pull up a loop. Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round. Repeat what’s in between | for # amount of times. FLO \ BLO = Front loop only \ back loop only
